Allen Junior Epling (writing as Allen Epling) is an independent researcher and author known for a series of self-published papers challenging conventional accounts of time, relativity and cosmology. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Epling's papers were published in 2013 through the General Science Journal and are also hosted on Joseph Rybczyk's mrelativity.net site. His three General Science Journal papers are An Analysis of the Big Bang from a Multi-Dimensional Perspective, Time: A Mystery Explained, and Dark Energy As An Illusion Caused by Space-Time Expansion.

In this work he treats time as a genuine dimension comparable to the spatial dimensions of height, width and length, and argues that it is multidimensional and overlaps the spatial dimensions, so that any movement in space is also a movement in time. He proposes that the universe we perceive as "reality" is a static four-dimensional structure, and he interprets the observed acceleration attributed to dark energy as an illusion produced by the expansion of space-time rather than as a physical energy component. These proposals lie outside the scientific mainstream and have not been published in peer-reviewed physics journals.
