Aradhya P. Kumar is a researcher known, with co-author Eric Sakk, for a proposed conceptual framework for faster-than-light neutrinos. They are listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
In a 2012 preprint prompted by the OPERA collaboration's (later-retracted) report of superluminal neutrinos, Kumar and Sakk argued that the observations need not violate special relativity but could instead be explained by a decrease in the effective path length traversed by the neutrino. They proposed that, at very small scales, spacetime takes a Kerr-type form allowing compression along preferred directions, so that a large-scale observer measures a shorter transit time than expected. The proposal was posted in the general-physics section of arXiv and lies outside the mainstream interpretation of the neutrino-timing results, which were ultimately attributed to an experimental error.
