Bambang Pramana is an electrical engineer and author known for a personal framework he calls the "Ultimate Unification Theory," an attempt to reconcile modern physics with mysticism under the banner of "Scientific Spirituality." He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Ideas

Pramana, trained in control-system engineering, describes his work as an effort to unify what he calls "the most ancient mystery teaching" with modern science. He proposes that the whole cosmos is an "Absolute One" that only appears manifold through polarization into pairs such as Yin/Yang, Spirit/Matter and Self/Non-Self, with consciousness arising from the interaction between them. He organizes the scheme around three "axioms of nature": the Law of One, the Law of Polarization and the Law of Interactions. He states that he presented an early version of the theory in 1992 at the Fifth International Conference on Thinking, held at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia. These ideas lie outside the scientific mainstream and are metaphysical rather than empirical in character.

Publications

Pramana is the author of the book Reflections of a Modern-Day Mystic: On the Origin of Human Suffering (2019) and maintains the "Scientific Spirituality" website presenting his theory.
