David Icke is a British author, public speaker and conspiracy theorist. A former professional footballer and sports broadcaster, he became known from the 1990s onward for a body of writing and lectures that combine conspiracy theory, alternative spirituality and metaphysics. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Ideas
Icke argues that the physical universe is not solid, independent reality but a holographic projection or "simulation." In his framing, the brain decodes frequencies from another dimension into what people experience as a three-dimensional world, and this decoded reality forms part of a wider "Matrix" that he says entraps human perception. He presents these claims through his books, website and public talks.
Icke's holographic-universe claims borrow the vocabulary of the holographic principle from theoretical physics but are not part of, and have not been accepted by, mainstream science; commentators generally describe them as pseudoscientific and note that his broader worldview draws heavily on conspiracy theory rather than empirical research.
