Jakob Huber (Dr. El.Ing.) is an engineer and independent researcher known for a vortex-based, "material-free" physics founded on his own ether theory. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.
Work
Huber developed an approach he called "Ätherik" (ether physics), which treats physical phenomena in terms of coupled vector fields and wave-like vortex processes rather than material particles. In this framework he interprets devices such as the homopolar (Faraday) generator as manifestations of vortex dynamics in the ether.
His ether physics formed the theoretical basis for the Kompendium der Wirbelphysik (Compendium of Vortex Physics, Version 1, 8 May 1999), produced by the vortex-physics working group of SAFE, the Swiss Association for Free Energy (Schweizerische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Freie Energie). The compendium, on which Huber worked alongside collaborators including Rudolf Fehlmann, Elisabeth Lehmann and André Waser, surveys vortex researchers, theories and claimed applications.
These ether- and vortex-based ideas lie outside mainstream physics, which does not employ a mechanical ether, but are advanced within the free-energy and alternative-physics community.
