Juan Domínguez-Montes is a Spanish author and independent researcher known for his writings on special relativity and superluminal signals. He is listed in The Worldwide List of Dissident Scientists.

Work

Domínguez-Montes has written on the interpretation of special relativity as it applies to hypothetical superluminal (faster-than-light) signals. In a paper published in the journal Physics Essays (vol. 23, 2010), he reviewed studies claiming that superluminal communication under special relativity would allow signalling into the past. He argues that such retrocausality is not, in fact, mathematically deducible from those studies, and that the existence of superluminal signals would not by itself force backward-in-time communication. He maintains a personal website presenting this and related work.

His analyses engage with topics that remain contested and outside the settled scientific mainstream, and are presented as his own interpretation of relativistic kinematics.
