Robert "Bob" Greenyer is a British engineer, entrepreneur and independent researcher who is a co-founder and the best-known public spokesman of the Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project (MFMP), a volunteer group that carries out open-source replication of cold fusion and low energy nuclear reaction (LENR) experiments. Greenyer is an advocate of what the project calls "live open science": apparatus drawings, procedures, raw data and even failures are published on the web in near-real time so that anyone may follow, criticise or repeat the work. His more recent research concerns what he and others call "exotic vacuum objects" (EVOs) — also described in the literature as charge clusters or condensed plasmoids — which he argues underlie LENR, transmutation and a range of other anomalous phenomena that mainstream physics does not presently accept.

Biography

Greenyer holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Brunel University in London, and has said that he comes from a farming background. Before turning to energy research he worked across a range of commercial sectors, including pharmaceuticals, advertising, education, finance and branding, and he has been involved in animation and smart-device application ventures; he is listed as Managing Director of GreenChild Imaging Solutions Pvt. Ltd. He reports dividing his time between the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic and southern India.

In August 2012, at the ICCF-17 conference in Daejeon, South Korea, Greenyer and a small group of like-minded people founded the Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project, named in honour of the electrochemist Martin Fleischmann, who with Stanley Pons announced the original cold fusion claim in 1989 and who had died earlier that year. Greenyer has volunteered with the project ever since. The project operates through the non-profit vehicle Quantum Heat C.I.C. and publishes at quantumheat.org; on ResearchGate Greenyer lists his affiliation as Quantum Heat C.I.C., with stated expertise in material characterisation, radiation detection, microstructure, SEM analysis and materials testing.

Scientific contributions

Live open science and the MFMP

Greenyer's central methodological argument is that the cold fusion field was crippled less by the physics than by the secrecy surrounding it. Commercial claimants, he contends, keep their reactors closed, while academic groups publish slowly and selectively, so that outside observers can neither confirm nor refute anything. The MFMP's answer is to run experiments in public: livestreamed and time-stamped data feeds, published build files, open calorimetry and open discussion of null results. Greenyer has repeatedly framed the project's aim as providing what he calls irrefutable, independently checkable evidence that the effect is real, rather than an appeal to authority in either direction.

Under this model the MFMP has attempted a long series of replications, including work on Francesco Celani's treated constantan wire cells; the "Dog Bone" reactor built as a replication of the design associated with Andrea Rossi; replications following the Lugano "HotCat" report and the protocols of the Russian researcher Alexander Parkhomov; the "LION" experiment, a nickel- and diamond-containing deuterium-fuelled reactor, and its successor LION-2; and a high-power ultrasonic and electrical-discharge cell associated with Suhas Ralkar. Greenyer has presented analyses of excess heat, of anomalous gaseous emissions, and of post-experiment fuel and electrode surfaces which he interprets as showing nuclear transmutation of elements.

Exotic vacuum objects

From about 2018 onward Greenyer's emphasis moved from heat measurement to the structures he believes are producing the effects. Following the work of Kenneth Shoulders on "exotic vacuum objects", of Winston Bostick on plasmoids, and of Russian and Japanese researchers such as Stanislav Adamenko and Takaaki Matsumoto, he argues that highly organised, self-confining clusters of charge — variously called EVOs, charge clusters or condensed plasmoids — form in electrical discharges, cavitation, ultrasonic excitation and in LENR fuel, and that these objects are the common agent behind excess heat, elemental transmutation and a family of strange surface tracks and markings.

Greenyer's evidence is largely microscopic and spectroscopic. He has drawn attention to what he calls "ion eater" spots — regions on copper collector screens that return essentially no secondary-ion signal under SIMS analysis — and argues that this points to structures or states of matter not accounted for by the standard picture. He proposes that EVOs can shield or alter mass and charge, transmute and even synthesise material, and produce the ordered, often fractal and toroidal track patterns he documents in exposed samples; he has connected these ideas to reports of transmutation to gold from copper and to older anomalous-technology claims. These are Greenyer's and the MFMP's interpretations, offered openly as working hypotheses under continuing test rather than as settled results, and they are not accepted by mainstream nuclear or plasma physics.

Greenyer is a frequent guest on independent science and energy podcasts and a regular conference speaker, including at the Alternative Propulsion Engineering Conference, where he has given presentations on exotic vacuum objects, transmutation and anomalies. He writes and podcasts at the Substack publication Remote View, and MFMP results and videos have been covered extensively by the LENR news sites E-Cat World and Cold Fusion Now.
