Abstract

One of the cornerstones of contemporary physics is the invariance of the velocity of light. As a natural consequence of this postulate comes the fact that the velocity of light does not depend, in any way, on the velocity of the emitting source.

Unfortunately, the experimental evidence confirming this corollary of the basic postulate of the relativity is not very accurate. It comes mainly from astronomical sources, such as star doublets, see Fig. 1.
