Abstract
It is argued that the presence of superposed structures arising due to the horizontal expansion of the lithosphere is a proof for the expansion of the earth. Models for the linking of ancient zones of different age are described, and a formula for the growth of the earth's radius is derived. A variety of geological and paleontological data is explained in the light of the expanding-earth hypothesis.
