Abstract
The author discusses a model of the sun based on and T dependence of nuclear energy generation and the energy released through neutrino and photon emission. It is suggested that this model 1) explains the cyclic variation of nuclear energy production in the core of the sun and 2) can explain the reported anticorrelation between the solar neutrino capture rate and the sunspot number. Also shown is that the anticorrelation does not result from neutrino flip through the magnetic field of the convection zone of the sun. Astrophysical implications of the solar neutrino flux variation are discussed.
