Abstract

One beguiling but incorrect notion of time is indicated by the following quotation from Bertrand Russell: "A date is fixed with complete precision if it is known concerning every other event in the world whether it wholly preceded that date, or will wholly come after it, or was in existence at that date..." ...but no one can know of all events, and what we mean by "time" is, and must be, whatever monents exist, regardless of whether we at present know of them all...
