Goran Mitic (Serbian: Goran Mitić; born 9 February 1963, Nis, Serbia) is a Serbian physicist and inventor. He is known for his dissident-physics proposal of a "temperature relativity of mass," from which he derives the concept of antigravity and an alternative model of the Sun and astrophysics that does not rely on thermonuclear fusion.
Biography
Mitic was born in Nis, where he has spent most of his life. He completed his schooling in Nis, where vocational training earned him the title of laboratory technician for physics. He then enrolled at the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Nis, graduating with the title of physicist.
While still a student, Mitic began to question aspects of contemporary physics. His first independent work, "Classical interpretation of the Michelson-Morley experiment," ran to roughly 70 pages with detailed drawings and supporting mathematics; he circulated it, including an English version sent to correspondents abroad, but it drew little response from fellow students, professors, or the wider scientific community.
Mitic entered the field of invention in 2003. He describes reaching an "antigravitational" insight in the late 1990s that led to his later work on renewable and "clean" energy technologies.
Work
Mitic's central idea is what he calls the temperature relativity of mass. By analogy with the way Einstein's special relativity relates mass to velocity, Mitic proposes that temperature also affects mass. On this view, heating a body makes it not only attractive but also repulsive, giving rise to a force he terms antigravity. He presents these ideas as corrections and additions to Newton's theory of gravitation.
He set out this thesis in the paper "Temperature Relativity of Mass - The Secret of Antigravity," written in 1999 and published in 2000 by the electronic journal Journal of Theoretics. He presented the work the same year at a congress in Saint Petersburg. Mitic developed the argument further in his 2008 book The Introduction Into New Physics - Part One.
Extending the concept to astrophysics, Mitic proposes an anti-gravitational model of the Sun in which the Sun's energy output arises from antigravitational effects rather than from thermonuclear fusion, describing the solar body as boiling, incandescent matter. These claims lie outside mainstream physics and have not been accepted by the scientific community.
