Category:Consciousness
This category collects work on consciousness and its relation to physics — a subject that recurs in this literature more than in the mainstream, and for identifiable reasons.
Entries include: proposals that consciousness plays a physical role in measurement, arising from the observer problem in quantum mechanics; field- and aether-based models of mind; work on the relation between information, organization and awareness; and treatments of the mind–matter problem by researchers whose primary work is in physics. Some of the material extends into parapsychology and reports of anomalous cognition.
Readers should approach this category knowing that it spans a wide range of rigour, from careful philosophical work on the measurement problem to speculative and untestable proposals, and that the boundary between them is not always marked. See also Category:Philosophy of Science and Category:Quantum Theory.
