Theoretical physics has long struck me as an impressive body of empirical knowledge that does not explain itself. I did not formally study physics (I only work on lay-accessible and philosohical aspects) , but got a PhD in philosophy from the U. of Oregon in 1989. My first book came out in 1994, called Scientific Nihilism: On the Loss and Recovery of Physical Explanation. There followed articles in Process Studies and Physics Essays, and another book in 2004 called Fruits of Time: Nature and the Unfolding of Difference. I am currently working on a book refuting the doctrine of Creation, as well as other works. I support myself by playing classical violin in orchestras.

Articles:

  • "Whitehead as Natural Philosopher: Anachronism or Visionsary?" Process Studies, V26, N3-4 (June 1998).
  • "Toward an Ontological Explanation of Light," Process Studies, V34, N1 (June 2005).
