Abstract

A method for predicting the stable orbital radii of planets orbiting stars or of satellites orbiting planets is presented. This method is based on a rationalized form of the Titius series, Xn - R = ABn in which the previously unpredictable scale factor, A, can be obtained using only the mass, radius, and equatorial velocity of the primary body in a given system. A is determined by substituting these three quantities in a relationship developed by dimensional analysis.
