Abstract

According to account executed according to the Special theory of a relativity (STR), the terrestrial surface should periodically change with amplitude up to 6,5 m. Such catastrophic fluctuations would exclude an opportunity of occurrence of a civilization. Our existence is the experimental proof of an inconsistency STR. The results of experiment Michelson are explained from positions of classical physics. The assumptions H. Lorentz and G. Fitzgerald about relativity reduction of the linear sizes of the device on a direction of movement of the Earth, have appeared erroneous. Two factors which are not taken into account at the analysis of experiment are found.
