Introduction to Quantum Mechanics is a 1959 textbook by the physicist Chalmers W Sherwin, published by Henry Holt (later Holt, Rinehart and Winston).

Overview

The book is a standard mid-twentieth-century undergraduate introduction to quantum mechanics, developing the Schrödinger equation, wave functions and operators, the harmonic oscillator and hydrogen atom, perturbation theory, and applications to atomic and molecular systems. It was widely used as a teaching text and is valued for its physically motivated, example-driven presentation.

About the author
