Abstract

The time evolution of the energy dissipation in heavy ion collisions can be expressed by the modified Langevin equation. The average values of the kinetic energy loss and the variance of kinetic energy in heavy ion collisions can also be represented by the modified Langevin equation. In this paper we suggest that the collective motions of nucleons in the nucleus do play an important role for the energy dissipation in heavy ion collisions.
