Nothing But Motion is a 1979 book by Dewey B Larson, published by North Pacific Publishers. It is Volume I of the revised and expanded edition of Larson's The Structure of the Physical Universe, and the primary statement of his Reciprocal System of theory.
Overview
The book sets out the basic postulates of the Reciprocal System — in which the physical universe is composed of nothing but motion, and space and time are the two reciprocal aspects of that motion. From these postulates Larson attempts to derive, deductively, a wide range of physics: reference systems, radiation, gravitation, faster-than-light (superluminal) velocities, the structure of atoms and sub-atomic particles, the origin of the physical constants, cosmic-ray decay, and the formation of chemical compounds. It is intended as the foundation for the further volumes and for future research in the system.
About the author
Dewey B. Larson (1898–1990) was an American chemical engineer and independent theoretician, the originator of the Reciprocal System of theory. See also his New Light on Space and Time.
