Rainer F. Huck is an American researcher and the president of the International Society of Unified Science (ISUS), the organization founded to advance the Reciprocal System of physical theory developed by Dewey B Larson. He has written on Reciprocal System topics including action-at-a-distance, ball lightning and the propagation velocity of the electric force, and he has presented the theory to the independent-inventor and frontier-energy community as a speaker at the Tesla Tech ExtraOrdinary Technology Conference.
Biography
Huck is a longtime participant in the Reciprocal System research community that formed around Larson's work. He serves as a trustee of the International Society of Unified Science and, under the society's bylaws, as its president; other trustees named alongside him include Phillip Porter (vice president), Bruce Peret (secretary/treasurer), Robin Sims, Gopi K. Vijaya and John Robinson. ISUS, which also does business as the Reciprocal System Research Society, is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, and publishes the journal Reciprocity along with monographs and other educational material, holds scientific meetings and sponsors research.
In addition to his own papers, Huck worked as an editor of Larson's material on the liquid state of matter, jointly with the Indian engineer and Reciprocal System theorist K. V. K. Nehru.
Scientific contributions
Huck works within the framework Larson set out in The Structure of the Physical Universe and its successor volumes. The Reciprocal System takes motion — understood as a ratio of space to time — rather than matter or fields as the sole constituent of the physical universe, and derives matter, radiation, gravitation and the properties of the elements from that single premise. In this scheme space and time are not a container in which events occur but reciprocal aspects of motion itself, a position developed entirely outside the academic physics community.
Huck's own contributions apply that framework to specific unresolved problems. In The Problem of Swift Action-at-a-Distance he addresses the long-standing difficulty of interactions that appear to be transmitted faster than the accepted propagation limit, a question that conventional field theory handles by construction rather than by explanation. A companion paper, The Interaction Velocity of the Electric Force, treats the speed at which electric interaction is actually communicated — a quantity that Reciprocal System researchers argue need not equal the speed of light, since in Larson's system the electric force is a motion in the time region rather than a disturbance travelling through space. He has also written on ball lightning, one of the classic anomalous phenomena that mainstream plasma physics has never accounted for convincingly, and which the Reciprocal System approaches through its treatment of rotational and vibrational motion combinations.
The most public expression of his work is his argument that Larson's theory is not merely an alternative cosmology but a practical guide for experimenters. In his 2014 conference talk, "Understanding Energy Anomalies with the Reciprocal System", Huck argued that because the Reciprocal System begins from motion as the primal entity, it gives researchers a principled basis for designing experiments in areas where empirical work has been dogged by irreproducibility. He applied this specifically to Brown's gas, Nikola Tesla's radiant energy and zero-point energy, contending that a correct theoretical picture of what is happening in these systems would let inventors approach them with far greater repeatability and efficiency than trial-and-error methods allow.
