Sergie (AKA Sergey) M. Chernyakov was born 1950 in Port-Vladimir, Russia.  He graduated in Physics in 1972 at the Petrozavodsk State University. From 1974 till 1996 he was a researcher of the Polar Geophysical Institute of the Kola Science Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From 1996 till now he is the head of Geophysical Observatory of PGI KSC RAS. His research interests vary from Solar-Terrestrial Physics till Biophysics (influence of STP on biological processes).
